The India Gate is the national heritage of India,Situated New Delhi.
History of Construction
India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens ,a British architect and built in 1931.It is inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
Importance
India Gate is known for the All India War Memorial for Indian Army who lost their lives while fighting for the India.After India's independence (1947),it became the site of the Indian Army's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, known as Amar Jawan Jyoti.It is joint to Rashtrapati Bhavan by Rajpath and Indian Republic Day Parade starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan and passes through India Gate to reach the Red Fort.
